Vegan in New York? No problem: here are some of the best vegan places where you can satisfy your cravings.

In this selection, we have gathered restaurants and cafes that are close to Port Authority bus terminal and many of New York’s attractions that every traveler has on their bucket list. That includes Madame Tussauds New York, where you can see life-size replicas of famous Americans and historic icons, the bustling Times Square located in the heart of the Theater District, accompanied by shopping opportunities and bright lights.

Picking a place to eat is not an easy task for a vegan. That is why we will introduce you to some of the best options around these locations, so you can have more time to simply store your luggage and explore the city on a full stomach, instead of wasting time trying to find the right place to eat.

* Please note that the order in which we mention the restaurants is completely random and not meant to reflect their grading.

Beyond Sushi

Vegan Sushi anyone? Beyond sushi is a chef-driven, vegan sushi concept, where the building blocks of the establishment can be summed up in one sentence “Eat clean and leave a lasting impact on our planet”. The business opened in 2012 and at this point exists in six locations around Manhattan. What makes Beyond Sushi special is that they avoid all meat and seafood alternatives in their ingredients, using what “mother nature” gifts us instead.

The menu offers a great variety of tasty meals to choose from such as “dumplings”, salads, soups, many different types of sushi, skewers and of course, sweets such as chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls!

The presentation of the food and the modern interior will grab your eye and the eyes of your Instagram followers, and if you even start reading some of the reviews you will find that people often note that the name fits the place as it is “beyond fantastic”!

Address: 134 W 37th St, New York, NY

The Cinnamon Snail

The Cinnamon Snail makes many other food trucks look bad with food that is “Kosher, 100% vegan, and crafted by a wild west wizard with a cauldron”. The place opened back in 2010, on Valentine’s day, as the country’s first vegan organic food truck and is now one of the best in New York City.

The Cinnamon Snail’s vision is probably one of the best we have ever seen, yet it somehow works flawlessly – “to present absurdly tasty, compassionately crafted food with the goal of luring unsuspecting non-vegans to the dark side, where they will reside forevermore in a carrot castle with a broccoli king and queen, where unicorns prance in the cotton candy mist, and oceans of chocolate ganache crash on the bourbon hazelnut waffle shores…” Simple enough, right?

The truck offers breakfast, sandwiches and burgers that are so tasty that you will be licking your fingers afterwards. What do you think about Apple Pecan Pancakes for breakfast?

They will be full of maple pecans, apple pie, and Vermont maple syrup cinnamon rum butter…good luck saying no to that. Reviews include statements such as “The best vegan sweets I’ve had the joy to eat.” so if you’ve got a sweet tooth – you know what to do.

Franchia

Franchia offers a casual take on Asian fusion vegan dining. The place is not only good for visiting with friends and family, but casual enough that you can take a quick bite on your own too. The menu includes items such as Spicy vegan “Buffalo” Wings, vegan fritters, Franchia’s Vegan Shish Kebab, and of course, vegan sushi.

However, keep in mind that while Franchia offers amazing lunch and dinner, it does not offer breakfast options. Further, if you choose to go on the weekend reservations are recommended especially for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings and for groups of 6 and more.

What makes Franchia special? While there is a lot to choose from, if you are a tea lover, you’d be happy to know that Franchia are committed to bringing you the finest teas from various tea plantations in Asia. The teas are carefully selected from tea plantations where the terrain and temperature conditions are the most optimum for producing the highest quality teas.
