What is Coronavirus or COVID-19?
This infectious disease was first identified in Wuhan, China late in 2019 and was named COVID-19, referring to 2019, which is the year when the outbreak occurred. It is also referred to as SARS-CoV-2 since it’s a respiratory disease similar to SARS.
What are the symptoms of Coronavirus?
If you experience any of the symptoms listed bellow in a mild form, please isolate yourself. You don’t need medical attention, and it’s possible to recover within 4-6 days. Pay attention if your symptoms are worsening. If you experience a worsening of your cough, an increasing fever and difficulty breathing, this could mean that the symptoms are becoming more severe in which case you may require hospital care.
The early-stage symptoms resemble usual symptoms of the flu, however they can also vary from person to person.
The common coronavirus symptoms detected so far are:
- Dry cough
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Muscle pain
- General malaise
How does the current Coronavirus situation affect different cities?
Europe and the US currently have the most coronavirus cases. Travelling to and from the US as well as travelling to and from Europe has been restricted to a minimum.
