The Top 20 Travel Blogs in New York in 2019

After extensive research, we’re proud to announce the 20 best blogs you can find for traveling to New York!

The selection process…

Traveling is about experiencing the best of what a new city can offer, and a great place to find inspiration is in blogs. However, it can be a jungle to navigate through the many blogs and content you can find online. Therefore, our team has scoured the internet looking for the best travel blogs in New York.

The 20 blogs that have made the final list have been selected based on 4 criteria:

  • Quality of the content
  • The practicality of the tips and advice
  • Purpose of the blog
  • Originality

In this award, you will find talented photographers, skilled writers, wanderlust addicts, foodies, family travelers, and eco-friendly travelers. Additionally, it is necessary to mention that some websites awarded are not, strictly speaking, travel blogs. However, in every case, the usefulness of their tips or their great content have convinced us to include them.

All 20 blogs have made it as “Best 20 Travel Blogs,” meaning the order is random.

We would like to congratulate all the bloggers that made the Top 20 — thanks to their awesome work!

The nominated bloggers are more than welcome to put the following code on their website to use the badge and share their nomination with their own readers!

Tracy Kaler

When I moved to NYC in 2007, I started writing email updates to share city experiences with friends and family. Fast forward three years later when I was on vacation in 2010, I went to Blogger (the blogging platform) and posted one of those email updates, just for fun. I needed a name and “Tracy’s New York Life” came to mind. I hit publish and closed my laptop, sending it into the abyss and not thinking about it again! Fast forward to 2011 when I revisited that one story, only to add others. I posted all those tales that I had sent via email, one by one. And so, the blog began. Over the years, this site has evolved into a New York City lifestyle and travel blog and less about my life (as it was in the first year or so), offering posts about living, food, culture, travel, and more to readers around the world. I strive to provide one of the best sources for people who are curious to learn more about New York, think they may want to make the leap and live here, visit regularly, or may never visit but continue to be infatuated with the city, the people and the lifestyle.

I love the upper west side

I Love The Upper West Side is a fun and friendly blog for Upper West Side residents and fans alike. We love to feature all of the things that make the UWS such an amazing place to live. Our website is the ultimate source for new local restaurants, cultural events, real estate news, local business info, celebrity gossip, neighbourhood history and more. And since the Upper West Side is so visually stunning, you’ll find a heavy dose of imagery her

Travel Bank

The TravelBank blog is full of destination features written for road warriors who work smarter (not harder) so they can make the most of their business trips. We fully embrace and even encourage, the trend of mixing business and leisure travel. If you’re already flying to New York City for a conference, why not come a day early and explore the things you wouldn’t have been able to otherwise? When it comes to experiences, we help our travellers find the best things to do, not the same old, worn-out attractions, since they have precious little time between meetings. That’s why we look for unique experiences to feature in every destination, like the Comedy Cellar in Manhattan.

Local Adventurer

Local Adventurer is a travel lifestyle blog that has been moving us to a new city each year. We picked one year because one year is long enough to find hidden gems but also temporary enough to motivate us to get out there and explore often. The idea of Local Adventurer was hatched when we moved out west and regretted not exploring more of Atlanta, the hometown we had lived in for most our lives. It’s easy to get comfortable and take your home for granted, so we wanted to practice finding adventure in our every day and open our eyes to the awe and wonder like our visitors do. Since then, we’ve been traveling full time but with a focus on exploring locally or in our greater backyard.

WanderlustingK

You’ll mostly find travel inspiration at WanderlustingK for independent travellers who want to forge their own path, soak up history, and get lost in beautiful places with a dash of adventure. I think that locals know best and you’ll find many tips about the places that we’ve called home (so far). Similarly, you’ll find tips/stories about our adventures elsewhere.

Nomadic Matt

Our favourite travels are self-organised travels, which take us to places, where massive tourism is luckily still unknown. We at Nina Travels travel with a backpack on our shoulders or by a 4×4 vehicle, trying to really see and get to know the visited country. We do not leave our home without a DSLR camera and GoPro, as making visual memories is a must thing for us. Our travels have become reacher with a new traveller since December 2016 – we are lucky enough to be travelling together with our baby boy Ren.

However, the website also covers a lot of less known things to discover in the great city of NYC.
