Berlin Ostbahnhof, or the Berlin East Station is located in the Friedrichshain quarter and is the mainline railway station in Berlin. The station opened in 1842 and after many changes of names and locations developed to Berlin’s “Gate to the East.”
Today, the station is used by long-distance trains, regional trains and the S-Bahn, with only a 10 minute ride to Berlin Central Station. The trains also makes a direct stop at Alexanderplatz where you can start your sightseeing within minutes, and also at Friedrichstraße Station, making it easy for you to quickly carry on with your travels.
