Major Stations and Places in Edinburgh

Edinburgh Waverley – Waverley station opened in 1846 and has been rebuilt between 1892 and 1902. It is located between the old town and modern Edinburgh, adjacent to Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle, and the Princes Street Gardens. The station’s opening hours are Monday to Saturday: 04:00 – 00:45, Sunday: 06:00 – 00:45. Airport buses and city tours leave from Waverley Bridge regularly throughout the day. Local buses leave from Princes Street and North Bridge. Buses for the rest of Scotland leave from St Andrew’s Square or Waterloo Place. You can leave luggage at Excess Baggage Co on platform 2 near the Calton Road entrance.

Princess Street – As one of the major thoroughfares in central Edinburgh, Scotland, and the main shopping street in Edinburgh. It is the southernmost street of Edinburgh’s New Town, as long as around 1 mile (1.6 km) from Lothian Road in the west, to Leith Street in the east. Edinburgh’s Princes Street is most well known for its amazing attractions and its many interesting and unique shops that go along the entire street. Princes Street starts off at Waterloo Place, at the East End, and goes all the way to Shandwick Place, which can be found at the West End.

South Bridge – South Bridge is a road bridge in Edinburgh, Scotland, starting at the High Street and finishing at Chambers Street/Infirmary Street. Nearby attractions include the National Museum of Scotland (0.1 miles), Edinburgh Old Town (0.1 miles), and The Real Mary King’s Close (0.2 miles).

Edinburgh Bus Station – Edinburgh Bus Station is located on Elder Street in the center of Edinburgh.
