Anne Frank House
Anne Frank House, or Anne Frank Huis in Dutch, is the home of, and biographical museum dedicated to, diarist Anne Frank. It is located close to Westerkerk in central Amsterdam.
Anne Frank and her family hid from the Nazi persecution during World War II. They lived in hidden rooms of a 17th-century house which was known as the Secret Annex. Unfortunately, Anne did not survive the war, but her diary did see the light when it was published in 1947 and later translated into more than 70 languages. It became one of the most significant books in the world and continues to teach readers about the perils of racism, discrimination, and war through a child’s innocent eyes.
The museum was founded in 1960 and continues to preserve and exhibit the hiding place of Anne and her family. Statistically, it is the third most visited museum in the Netherlands. With less than a 15-minute transit ride from Centraal Station and the Nieuwmarkt Metro Station, Anne Frank House is easily accessible for all commuters.
If you plan on visiting Anne Frank House the next time you travel to Amsterdam, it is advised you purchase your ticket two months ahead, as this is when 80% of the tickets are released. Also, the museum may only be visited with a ticket bought online for a specific time slot.
As you’re organizing your trip, keep in mind that you can also make an advanced booking for LuggageHero and we will make sure to provide you with available space to store your bags upon your arrival in Amsterdam.
Since the museum is full of very steep stairs, crowded rooms and is generally difficult to traverse in, you want to make sure you’re not carrying around your bags with you.
By leaving your luggage at one of the closest storage locations which are just down the street, you are treating yourself to a hassle-free tour of the museum as well as access to two other fascinating museums in the city, the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Other popular attractions worth visiting while in Amsterdam are De Wallen and Dam Square.

LuggageHero in the press
-
"LuggageHero, which offers online booking with a credit card — thus, eliminating the need for users to have local currency on hand — is one of the most recent players to expand its services. In December the company began operating in New York, where today it has some 250 locations."
-
"One solution is LuggageHero, which was already on the scene in Copenhagen and London, and has now expanded into New York. Its selling point is that it lets you store your luggage in a local shop, café or hotel, which is often more convenient than having to go to a storage facility at a train station."
-
"LuggageHero, which Jannik Lawaetz founded in 2016, currently has more than 300 storage locations in six cities (New York, London, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona) and plans to expand to 39 cities by January 2020."

"LuggageHero founder and chief executive Jannik Lawaetz says that the concept was inspired by that mother of invention — necessity — and Airbnb. A couple of years ago, he and his girlfriend rented an apartment in Barcelona via the home-share service. They had a later flight on their day of departure and wanted to continue exploring the city, but didn't want to lug their suitcases around. "
