Piazza San Marco
Piazza San Marco, or St. Mark’s Square is a public square in the heart of Venice. It’s considered to be the only “piazza” in Venice, since the other squares are either “piazzelas” or “campos.” Established in the 9th century, the square was paved around 1300 and remains roughly the shape and form it is today.
With the famous Church of St. Mark’s on its east end, the square is also surrounded by the Piazzetta dei Leoncini, Torre dell’Orologio, the Ala Napoleonica, Procuratie Nuove and the long arcade known as Procuratie Vecchie. It’s easily accessible via water bus, water taxi or boat from both the Piazzale Roma Bus Station and Venezia Santa Lucia Station.
Piazza San Marco is an open space that leads to the waterway of the lagoon. It’s considered to be the most beautiful square in the world or as Napoleon described it, “the world’s most beautiful drawing room.” Full of renowned cafes and bands playing live music, Piazza San Marco draws in tourists day and night.
On a side note, the square does flood a few times a year since it is located in the lowest point in Venice. However authorities place wooden footbridges or the locals and tourists, many of which actually visit Venice in order to experience this occurrence.
If you’re planning on visiting St. Mark’s Square, or you find yourself in Venice for the day between flights or train rides, feel free to drop by at any of our luggage-storage spot. With locations just steps away from St. Mark’s Square, you can instantly drop off your luggage and start exploring Venice hassle-free.
When you leave your luggage with our friendly staff at the storage location, you’re also free to explore other popular Venice tourist attractions such as Ponte di Rialto and St. Mark’s Basilica.

"LuggageHero, which offers online booking with a credit card — thus, eliminating the need for users to have local currency on hand — is one of the most recent players to expand its services. In December the company began operating in New York, where today it has some 250 locations."
-
"One solution is LuggageHero, which was already on the scene in Copenhagen and London, and has now expanded into New York. Its selling point is that it lets you store your luggage in a local shop, café or hotel, which is often more convenient than having to go to a storage facility at a train station."
-
"LuggageHero, which Jannik Lawaetz founded in 2016, currently has more than 300 storage locations in six cities (New York, London, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona) and plans to expand to 39 cities by January 2020."

"LuggageHero founder and chief executive Jannik Lawaetz says that the concept was inspired by that mother of invention — necessity — and Airbnb. A couple of years ago, he and his girlfriend rented an apartment in Barcelona via the home-share service. They had a later flight on their day of departure and wanted to continue exploring the city, but didn't want to lug their suitcases around. "
