McPherson Square is a square located in the downtown commercial and business district of Washington, D.C. The square is served by McPherson Square station on the Washington metro and is the main station to access the White House. It allows connection to the blue, silver and orange lines. The White House
The White House is the office and the official residence of the President of the United States. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington D.C. All American presidents have lived there since John Adams, second president of the United States.

The Lafayette Park
The Lafayette Park Historic District essentially covers a 30,000 m2 public park located north of the White House on H Street. The park and surrounding structures were declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970.
Lafayette Park was used as a running field, cemetery, slave market, zoo, soldiers’ encampment during the War of 1812 and several demonstrations of protest or celebration.
The current plan of the park dates from 1930. In the center is the equestrian statue of President Andrew Jackson. At the four corners of the park, statues of foreign heroes of the American War of Independence are erected: the Marquis de Lafayette and the Comte de Rochambeau for France, General Kościuszko for Poland and Baron von Steuben for Prussia.
St. John’s Episcopal Church
St. John’s Episcopal Church is an Episcopalian church in Washington. It has been visited by all the presidents of the United States since James Madison which also gives it the name of the church of presidents. It is located on Lafayette Square and has been a National Historic Landmark since December 19, 1960 and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since October 15, 1966.
