Here’s Why Vaccinated People Still Need to Wear a Mask

” The new Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna seem to be remarkably good at preventing serious illness. But it’s unclear how well they will curb the spread of the coronavirus.

That’s because the Pfizer and Moderna trials tracked only how many vaccinated people became sick with Covid-19. That leaves open the possibility that some vaccinated people get infected without developing symptoms, and could then silently transmit the virus — especially if they come in close contact with others or stop wearing masks.” Continue reading here

Moderna becomes third Covid vaccine approved in the UK

“Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said it is “excellent news” that a third coronavirus vaccine has been approved for use in the UK.

It is made by US company Moderna and works in a similar way to the Pfizer one already being offered on the NHS.

The UK has pre-ordered 17 million doses of the Moderna vaccine – 10 million more than planned – but supplies are not expected to arrive until spring.

It is the last Covid vaccine with final trial data published. ” Continue reading here

Covid: WHO team investigating virus origins denied entry to China

“A World Health Organization (WHO) team due to investigate the origins of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan has been denied entry to China.

Two members were already en route, with the WHO saying the problem was a lack of visa clearances.

However, China has challenged this, saying details of the visit, including dates, were still being arranged.

The long-awaited probe was agreed upon by Beijing after many months of negotiations with the WHO.

The virus was first detected in Wuhan in late 2019, with the initial outbreak linked to a market. ” Continue reading here

What to do while currently in Nashville

  • Food delivery

The coronavirus situation doesn’t need to prevent you from having some delicious food and keeping your body fueled and healthy. You can visit UberEats, GrubHub, Postmates or other delivery websites, pick anything you want and have it delivered to your home or location.

  • Communicating with your loved ones

You can use this time to reconnect with your loved ones through different video options online. Keeping everyone up-to-date about yourself, making sure everyone is healthy and well and «making someone’s’ day» by giving them a good laugh is a great way to maintain strong relations even when you cannot physically spend time together.

Virtual coffees and dinner dates with a friend, family member, a loved one, or a «double-date» even with another couple is the thing to do during these corona times. Why not enjoy someone’s’ company while everyone stays in the comfort of their home? Times like these sometimes ask us to adapt to another lifestyle, but why not make the best of it?

  • Live streams and virtual concerts

With many venues and concert halls shut down in Nashville due to the coronavirus, you have the option of watching streams and virtual concerts from the safety and comfort of your own home. Here is a list of events for you to enjoy and it keeps getting updated so make sure you’re always checking what’s new!

  • Read/Write

If you’re at home, you probably have a shelf full of books that you’ve always wanted to read but never got to. Or perhaps you have some texts that you’ve saved on your phone under «read later.» This is the perfect time to take your mind off the current stressful situation and dive into a literary world, at least for a an hour or two a day.

Also, writing or keeping a journal and getting those thoughts and feelings out on paper can be a true stress reliever during times like these.

  • Take a walk in nature close to or around your home/location

Although social distancing during these times is very important, going outdoors for some fresh air and a quick walk are just as important for our health. We suggest talking a walk around your living premises, going for a run, making use of your backyard or simply going on your balcony more frequently during the day.
