If you love to travel, there’s nothing more annoying than carrying your luggage through the entire city. Well, maybe you like to carry it around – if not, this is our coverage of where to store your luggage when in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Luggage Storage

Bags can be stored at the airport luggage lockers for up to 7 days. Baggage lockers can be found at six locations in the airport.  The prices for lockers are €8 per 24 hours. There is also baggage storage located on Level 1 between Arrivals 1 and Arrivals 2. The prices range from €6 to €12 per day.

Amsterdam Central Station Luggage Storage

The self-service luggage lockers (Dutch: bagagekluizen) at the Central Station are in the East wing of the station (right side of the building looking from the city centre), in a separate area open daily 5am to 1am.

The self-operated lockers at central station are in two sizes. The smaller is 90x45x40 cm and the bigger is 90x60x40 cm.

The rate for a small locker is €7 for the first 24 hours. The bigger locker is more expensive, with first 24 hours at €10. And there is extra charge for leaving it there for longer. Maximum length of storage is 9 days.

You place your luggage in a selected locker, get a special ticket in a vending machine (accepting major credit cards) and close the locket. Memorise the number of your locket. Do not lose the ticket as it will cost you an extra fee of €10.

During busy times these storage lockers can fill up.

Drop and Go

Located across from Amsterdam Central Station, Drop and Go offers luggage storage, laptop and mobile phone charging stations and printing services. They will also weigh your luggage and can hand off keys for Airbnb apartments.

Prices at Drop & Go are as follows: small items are €4, carryon bags are €7, large items are €10 per 24 hours and extra large bags and odd sized items are €15 for 24 hours. Drop and Go is open from 9am to 10pm.

Lockerpoint

For €8 a day you can leave your luggage at Lockerpoint, conveniently located near Central Station in the city center at Beurs van Berlage. The large lockers can fit two rolling suitcases.

Located in the centre of Amsterdam near the shopping area, Lock Luggage Storage has three sizes of lockers for you to chose from. Prices range from €5-10 for 24 hours. They are open from 9:00 to 22:00 every day.

Amsterdam Luggage Storage will store your luggage for €6 per day. If you book for 7 days you get the weekend free. If you need storage for a term longer than that, rates are negotiable.

Most major museums have cloakrooms for jackets and umbrellas, however nothing larger than the size of an A4 paper can be stored at museums and galleries.

Hotels

You might be lucky to stay in a hotel willing to store your bags. This is a great option if you need a little more time to look around the area where your hotel is located. If you want to explore places away from your hotel, it’s possible that some hotels will let you store your bags for a fee even if you are not a guest. However, it’s not all hotels that offers this service to people who are not staying at the hotel, but it never hurts to ask!
