Basilica di San Lorenzo
Basilica di San Lorenzo is one of the largest churches of Florence. It also stands as one of the first churches to be documented by St. Ambrose, Bishop of Milan in 393, which makes it one of the oldest churches in Florence.
The church is made up of significant artistic and architectural works; sculpture and inner decor by Donatello and the Laurentian Library and staircase by Michelangelo, among others. The Medici Chapels were designed by Matteo Nigetti, which also explains that the church is the burial place for the members of the Medici family.
The Basilica di San Lorenzo is located in the centre of the city’s main market district. Outside the church, you’ll find the San Lorenzo Market, a place with activities for the entire family. The San Lorenzo Market consists of two separate markets, an indoor market, known as the Mercato Centrale, and an outdoor market.
While spending your day at a market in San Lorenzo or visiting the church itself on your arrival and departure day, you might want to consider ditching those bags. You can store your bags locally at one of our partner locations (a few of which are just steps away from the church) and turn your travel date into a holiday!
From this area, you have easy access to many other places worth such as Cathedral di Santa Maria del Fiore, Basilica di San Marco, and Basilica di Santo Spirito.
Leave your luggage with us and make the most of your Florence travel experience!

"LuggageHero, which offers online booking with a credit card — thus, eliminating the need for users to have local currency on hand — is one of the most recent players to expand its services. In December the company began operating in New York, where today it has some 250 locations."

"One solution is LuggageHero, which was already on the scene in Copenhagen and London, and has now expanded into New York. Its selling point is that it lets you store your luggage in a local shop, café or hotel, which is often more convenient than having to go to a storage facility at a train station."
-
"LuggageHero, which Jannik Lawaetz founded in 2016, currently has more than 300 storage locations in six cities (New York, London, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona) and plans to expand to 39 cities by January 2020."

"LuggageHero founder and chief executive Jannik Lawaetz says that the concept was inspired by that mother of invention — necessity — and Airbnb. A couple of years ago, he and his girlfriend rented an apartment in Barcelona via the home-share service. They had a later flight on their day of departure and wanted to continue exploring the city, but didn't want to lug their suitcases around. "
